  • Helpful hint:  when registering for rental equipment know the weight (in pounds), height (in feet and inches), and shoe size of the participant. Please enter the correct information to help our team have the right equipment for you.
  • Is the Group for me?:
    • Yes, if you already know how to ski/sb join in.
    • Yes, participate if this is your first time skiing/snowboarding, or you have skied/snowboarded before but you are not ready to load a chairlift. Groups are a great, affordable way to teach students the basics of skiing/snowboarding.  Beginner Group  Zone Lessons are included in the program!
  • Goal:  Introduce you to the hill, teach equipment knowledge/safety & basic beginner skills. To ski/snowboard down our beginner terrain learning to turn, stop, control speed and enjoy skiing/snowboarding.
  • Success: It was fun and you'll want to go again.
  • Learning to ski/ or snowboard: Students should be at least 7 years old to participate in the group learning.  Please keep in mind these are group sized beginner lessons, on the beginner hill.
  • Groups start at zone 1, and it is the student's responsibility to report to lessons. We don't take attendance at the lesson.
  • Students should be dressed, geared up, at zone 1 by the start time.  If your student chooses not to attend no credit or makeup will be provided.
  • All students learn differently, so a private lesson may be a better fit for a struggling student. We want students to love this sport as much as we do; providing them with a great experience is important to us.
  • Parents are welcome to watch lessons but must remain off the snow/ hill (unless they also have a ticket and are participating).
  • If the participant is a brand new beginner and is NOT atleast 7 years old you must reach out to Laura: groups@crystalridge.com. Younger begining learners may need additional assistance, which is why the Group might not be the best fit for a younger participant. There may be an additional fee to ensure correct instructor to student ratio for the younger student for the beginner lesson.

  • What to wear:  You or your child will be participating in an outdoor, physical activity. Dress in layers. Layering allows you to accommodate your body's constantly changing temperature. Wear multiple layers that can be removed if you are too warm. Remember, you will be doing a physical activity and your body will generate heat. While the last thing you want is to be cold, many first-timers overdress.

Weather : Crystal Ridge will update any hill closings due to weather conditions. Closing due to snow is very unlikely. Closings will be posted on our website. Please keep in mind we are a winter seasonal sport. If your group outing has been cancelled, we will refund your money. If you choose not to attend there will not be a refund.

Refunds & Cancellations: Group enrollments are non-refundable and non-transferable.

  • In the event that a student must drop out of the group program due to medical reasons, a doctor's note should be provided to groups@crystalridge.com. In return, the student will receive a gift card, which does not expire.

Conduct

It is important that our slopes and lodge remain a family friendly environment. We take pride in providing a fun winter place for families to enjoy. The use of inappropriate language to other guests or staff and reckless skiing/snowboarding may result in students' lift tickets being pulled.

The responsibility code -- learn it, know it, use it.

 1. Always stay in control. You must be able to stop or avoid people or objects.
 2. People ahead or downhill of you have the right-of-way. You must avoid them.
 3. Stop only where you are visible from above and do not restrict traffic.
 4. Look uphill and avoid others before starting downhill or entering a trail.
 5. You must prevent runaway equipment.
 6. Read and obey all signs, warnings, and hazard markings.
 7. Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas.
 8. You must know how and be able to load, ride and unload lifts safely. If you need assistance, ask the lift attendant.
 9. Do not use lifts or terrain when impaired by alcohol or drugs.
 10. If you are involved in a collision or incident, share your contact information with each other and a ski area employee.

Bags & Personal Belongings: Bags can't stay in cafe.  Use cubbies or lockers located in our rental area.

  • Label your items with your student's name and phone number.
  • No carry in food is allowed in Lodge.
  • The complex is not responsible for any personal belongings or gear that is left behind.

We look forward to having you join us on the slopes of The Crystal Ridge this season.

Make it a Great Day!
